Mercer County, NJ - edWeb.net Initiatives
Using edWeb.net to promote better communication and collaboration for the
Mercer County Leadership Council and Professional Development
edWeb.net has been working with Dr. Samuel Stewart, the Executive Superintendent of Mercer County, since the edWeb was first launched for beta testing in 2007. As Superintendent of the Montgomery Township NJ Schools, Dr. Stewart was a strong supporter of using the edWeb to help promote communication and professional development for all of the teachers and staff in Montgomery.
Dr. Stewart is now the Executive Superintendent of Mercer County and is providing personal leadership to promote using the edWeb to improve communication and collaboration in the Mercer County Schools. We are working closely with Dr. Stewart and the Mercer County Leadership Council to create models for how social networking technology can be used to further educational goals and objectives, and improve overall communication within Mercer County, and with other counties in New Jersey.
We are currently working on developing online communities for the following working groups:
- Mercer County Superintendents
- Mercer County Leadership Council
- Mercer County Professional Development
- Mercer County Math-Science Committee
- Mercer County Social Studies Committee
- Mercer County Language Arts Committee
Mercer County, located in central New Jersey, reflects many of the challenges and diverse economic conditions in our country. Mercer County includes both Princeton (one of the wealthiest communities and highest performing schools in America) and Trenton (one of the poorest communities with the lowest performing schools in the state).
We are delighted to have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with Dr. Stewart and his dedicated team, to see how the edWeb can help support the work they are doing to improve education for all students.
