Lisa Schmucki, Founder & CEO — Lisa developed the idea and vision for the edWeb after seeing how her daughter and friends were using Facebook. Lisa saw how social networking could help teachers, and all educators, connect and collaborate. The edWeb was launched in collaboration with two long-time industry colleagues, Michael Mantell and Alex Oss. Lisa is an education industry executive with 30 years experience in product development, database development, and marketing. Lisa has held senior marketing positions with MKTG Services, Achieve3000, Films Media Group, Peterson's Guides, Macmillan Book Clubs, and Time-Life Books. She founded Bridgepoint Marketing Services, a marketing consulting company. Lisa is a graduate of Princeton University and has a Masters Degree from the Stern School of Business at NYU. Michael Mantell, Founder & Advisor — Michael Mantell was a founding investor and a member of the initial edWeb start-up team. His initial investment and his early-stage participation in getting the site up and running were critical to our early success. Michael currently serves as an advisor to the edWeb. He is the founder and president of Golden Peak Group LLC, a company that provides consulting services and capital for early stage web companies. He was the founder and president of Edudex, an e-commerce website for the education community. Alex Oss, Founder & CTO — Alex Oss is the edWeb's technology genius who makes our ideas and vision for the edWeb become a reality. Thanks to Alex, we have received kudos on our easy and intuitive functionality from both techies and novices. Alex Oss has 20 years of experience in enterprise applications, systems design, programming, and a wide range of IT-related responsibilities. Alex has designed and built several generations of database marketing systems and websites using education data. Previously, Alex was Director of Enterprise Applications at Films Media Group, where he began his career as a programmer/analyst. Doug Lerner, Technology Consultant — Doug was the chief developer of the "Neighbors" social networking system which forms the base of the edWeb.net community platform. He continues to work with edWeb to develop new features and functionality. Doug also serves as Director of Technology and Asia-Pacific operations for Bayspire, Inc. Doug earned his M.S. in physics at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and did further post-graduate work at the University of California Davis and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories. He has over 20 years of experience in higher education, large program management, student advisement, course development, technical training, project management, and also software development for online education, social networks, online communities and scientific simulation. Doug lives in Tokyo, Japan.
Lynn Scott, Director of Marketing and Program Development — Lynn is responsible for helping edWeb to build our sponsorship programs for companies and non-profit organizations. Lynn developed our very successful Game-Based Learning program and consults with our clients to develop new models for online professional learning programs and lead generation. Lynn is an experienced marketing executive and has held previous positions with MDR, Adam Equipment, Ohaus Corp, Primary Source Media (Gale / Cengage), and Queue, Inc. Erin Pettus, Communications Coordinator — Erin coordinates our professional development programs, provides support and training for our members, and manages our social media communications. As a "digital native," she does this faster and more efficiently than the rest of us. After spending time studying abroad in Queensland, Australia she became particularly interested in how to use social media for communication and collaboration. Erin worked for RMS Media Group, Inc. in Andover, MA in marketing and event management. Christine Van Arsdalen, Training and Support — Christine provides support and training for edWeb members. Aside from growing up in an age filled with technology and digital communication, she gained experience doing integrated marketing for a small company in New Jersey. While there, she completed several projects involving print, digital and social media. She is a graduate of Rowan University with degrees in Advertising and Spanish. Mauri Greaves, Creative Services — Mauri is our creative services consultant who has designed the logo and design for edWeb. With her graphic design and editorial expertise, Mauri develops all of our online and print communications. We get many compliments on our clean and attractive look and feel thanks to Mauri.
